Project Treble helps manufacturers to upgrade their devices to newer versions of Android with ease. This is achieved by separating the hardware-specific code from the Android OS through an HIDL interface. This allows the Android OS to be replaced without rebuilding the hardware-specific code. In addition, devices that support Project Treble can also install generic system images based from new versions of Android to experience the latest features on their devices.
